Wrinkles, Cellulite and Skin Care can Wait Until Spring

With the winter months fast approaching it’s that time of year that most women reduce their worry about particular cosmetic and beauty aspects like: cellulite cream, wrinkle creams and even weight loss.

After all with colder weather comes no more bathing suits and more bulky clothing.

Doesn’t this bag the question how ever, why can’t we just be happy with how we look now? Do we need to be so obsessive about all of these beauty topics and skin care troubles.

Personally I don’t think we do. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with women wanting to use anti aging creams to look younger and smooth their skin. Nor am I saying women should use cellulite cream to smooth their legs and thighs. What I am saying is don’t feel like you have to do it too fit in.

The colder weather is an excellent time to reflect on this and remember that we’re all beautiful and these products are a way to enhance ourselves but they are not ourselves.

Just a thought to contemplate!

Getting Tired of those Pesky Cellulite Dimples?

You’re not alone. Did you know that upwards of 90% of women are affected by cellulite? That’s right it’s not so abnormal after all to have a bit of the cottage cheese look on the thighs and buttocks. It’s actually less normal to have zero cellulite. So why do we all so badly want to get rid of it?

Good question?

The obvious answers are the beauty product manufacturers are doing a great job at marketing that smooth sleek look of our legs to us on TV and in magazines. Also all the big Hollywood stars and models don’t seem to have cellulite.

What they don’t show us how ever is the hours or work that these people put their bodies through to stay looking so good. They don’t discuss just how much exercise, working out and diet modifications they make.

So what can you do to get rid of cellulite that won’t modify your entire lifestyle and take months to do?

Anti Cellulite Creams

Topical treatments are probably the most popular method to say goodbye to cellulite. They’re reasonably inexpensive when compared to other cellulite treatment methods and are readily available.

One major draw back to using cellulite creams for treatment is their results are never permanent. You’re constantly having to apply the cream daily to maintain your results level. This really isn’t the ideal situation if you ask me.

How about Dieting

Unfortunately due to the nature of cellulite and where the fat is located dieting does very little to reduce cellulite. It’s a good idea to maintain a healthy diet anyways as extra weight being carried around on your body has other negative effects but it won’t directly get rid of cellulite dimples.

Exercise

Exercise can help reduce the appearance of cellulite. It will achieve similar results to cellulite creams but it will be more permanent, less expensive and help your over all health a lot more.

Doing leg focused exercises such as step aerobics, jumping rope and stair climbing will firm and tone the muscles in your legs, thighs and buttocks. Over time what will happen those muscles will begin to sculpt your body in those areas. The dimples that were once visible from cellulite will be reduced and the muscle tone will take over.

The best case scenario would be to use a combination of cellulite creams for the first month or two while exercising. Eventually you won’t have to maintain use of the cream and can rely on exercise to keep your sleek look.

Acne Gadgets Rather then Cleansers, Creams and Moisturizers

When you think acne treatment I’m sure you almost always think of the Proactiv commercial or the hundreds of cleansers and gels that are sold at your local drug store. How ever did you know that there are acne treatment devices that zap zits even before they start?

That’s right, devices like Thermaclear and Zeno acne are becoming more popular. In fact I saw refill tips for one of them in my local pharmacy they other day which is what prompted me to make this post. I figure if they’re making it into the main stream we might start to see more of these little gadgets popping up.

How do they Work?

Rather then waiting for a break out to occur most acne devices zap the bacteria in the skin before a full on acne breakout occurs. The small tip applies amount of heat and energy to the skin which kills the bacteria in the poor causing the acne pimple to grow in the first place.

The tips eventually need replacing and the devices do require charging to run on batteries, how ever it’s a nice treat to be able to zap a zit before it grows out.

Long Term Effects?

There don’t appear to be any long term side effects using a device like Thermaclear or zeno. There is a bit of a sensation when you’re using the treatment but it doesn’t last after it’s complete. Most users have no complaints about rashes or marks, nor do they have other adverse reactions to it.

I think it’s the future of acne treatment myself, and I like it a lot more then using a three step cleansing system every morning and night.

More to Skin Care then Just Moisturizers and Cleansers

When it comes to caring for your acne, or any type of skin condition it’s easy to get carried away in all the treatment products that are needed to help us look better. The same is true of anti wrinkle creams and any other beauty product.

How ever we pay very little attention to the long term effects some of these products can have on our bodies and skin. For example, some acne treatments use very harsh ingredients. These ingredients don’t cause pain but they dry out the skin and can make it difficult to get the natural moisture level back up in your skin.

A few things to Remember

When ever purchasing skin care products look for those that contain natural ingredients. Avoid using treatments that are 100% chemical based, there are usually options out there that will do a similar if not better job without the harsh ingredients.

Understand the risks and side effects involved with the skin care cream or product you’re buying.

For example some instant wrinkle reducing creams do wonders to get rid of wrinkles in just minutes but the skin tightening ingredients that are included can be painful when they first start to tighten the skin. As an alternative there are less painful tightening ingredients such as Sesaflash® which tighten and moisturizes at the same time.

Consider using products that will counter act the negative effects of a particular skin care treatment. Possibly moisturize more often if the treatment you’re using dries out the skin.

The key is to remember there are options when it comes to buying acne, anti aging or any other skin care product. Look for those that are more natural rather then chemically formulated and you should be fine.

The 3 Steps to Clearing Adult Acne

There are a lot of myths surrounding why adults get acne. Unfortunately it’s not a black and white situation. There are an array of things from oily skin and lifestyle choices that can contribute to adults running into troubles with acne. Thankfully for uncomlicated breakouts there is a 3 step system you can follow to heap clear your skin.

Many of todays top products utilize this system so it’s no secret that it works.

1.) Cleanser: Before you can do anything to treat your acne you have to clear away the dirt and oil that is currently clogging your pores. If you don’t then adding serums, creams or gels over top of dirt and oil will only clog your pores worse and worsen the break out.

2.) Treat: This is the step we’re most familiar with. It would use the alcohol based cleanser to kill or clear away acne bacteria. After cleaning your skin this step can tingle a bit. It’s a must if you want to clear away that break out.

3.) Soothe: After cleaning and getting rid of acne bacteria most of today’s acne treatment products offer a soothing solution. This calms the skin, reduces any redness that may have occurred and gives you an over all calming feeling.

This same 3 step process can be seen in products like Exposed Acne Solution, Proactive and Murad’s Acne Complex. All three of these are great acne treatment products but they can be a bit pricey. You can find similar treatment products in a no name form from websites like acne.org.

The owner of this website (acne.org) has created what he calls the regime. The system he used to clear his adult acne. He now markets products under the brand of acne.org to clear your acne. His products are top notch and can be purchase for less then some of those other acne treatment systems available.
