Getting Tired of those Pesky Cellulite Dimples?

You’re not alone. Did you know that upwards of 90% of women are affected by cellulite? That’s right it’s not so abnormal after all to have a bit of the cottage cheese look on the thighs and buttocks. It’s actually less normal to have zero cellulite. So why do we all so badly want to get rid of it?

Good question?

The obvious answers are the beauty product manufacturers are doing a great job at marketing that smooth sleek look of our legs to us on TV and in magazines. Also all the big Hollywood stars and models don’t seem to have cellulite.

What they don’t show us how ever is the hours or work that these people put their bodies through to stay looking so good. They don’t discuss just how much exercise, working out and diet modifications they make.

So what can you do to get rid of cellulite that won’t modify your entire lifestyle and take months to do?

Anti Cellulite Creams

Topical treatments are probably the most popular method to say goodbye to cellulite. They’re reasonably inexpensive when compared to other cellulite treatment methods and are readily available.

One major draw back to using cellulite creams for treatment is their results are never permanent. You’re constantly having to apply the cream daily to maintain your results level. This really isn’t the ideal situation if you ask me.

How about Dieting

Unfortunately due to the nature of cellulite and where the fat is located dieting does very little to reduce cellulite. It’s a good idea to maintain a healthy diet anyways as extra weight being carried around on your body has other negative effects but it won’t directly get rid of cellulite dimples.

Exercise

Exercise can help reduce the appearance of cellulite. It will achieve similar results to cellulite creams but it will be more permanent, less expensive and help your over all health a lot more.

Doing leg focused exercises such as step aerobics, jumping rope and stair climbing will firm and tone the muscles in your legs, thighs and buttocks. Over time what will happen those muscles will begin to sculpt your body in those areas. The dimples that were once visible from cellulite will be reduced and the muscle tone will take over.

The best case scenario would be to use a combination of cellulite creams for the first month or two while exercising. Eventually you won’t have to maintain use of the cream and can rely on exercise to keep your sleek look.

Acne Gadgets Rather then Cleansers, Creams and Moisturizers

When you think acne treatment I’m sure you almost always think of the Proactiv commercial or the hundreds of cleansers and gels that are sold at your local drug store. How ever did you know that there are acne treatment devices that zap zits even before they start?

That’s right, devices like Thermaclear and Zeno acne are becoming more popular. In fact I saw refill tips for one of them in my local pharmacy they other day which is what prompted me to make this post. I figure if they’re making it into the main stream we might start to see more of these little gadgets popping up.

How do they Work?

Rather then waiting for a break out to occur most acne devices zap the bacteria in the skin before a full on acne breakout occurs. The small tip applies amount of heat and energy to the skin which kills the bacteria in the poor causing the acne pimple to grow in the first place.

The tips eventually need replacing and the devices do require charging to run on batteries, how ever it’s a nice treat to be able to zap a zit before it grows out.

Long Term Effects?

There don’t appear to be any long term side effects using a device like Thermaclear or zeno. There is a bit of a sensation when you’re using the treatment but it doesn’t last after it’s complete. Most users have no complaints about rashes or marks, nor do they have other adverse reactions to it.

I think it’s the future of acne treatment myself, and I like it a lot more then using a three step cleansing system every morning and night.
