The Acne Treatments Guide - A brief explanation of what treatment is best for you.
Welcome to the most honest guide to date on acne treatments.
What makes my treatment guide an honest one is I will not be trying to sell any products to you and my information is based on my personal experience with acne as well additional research into acne I have put in.
Which treatment is the best for you?
When choosing an acne treatment the best option for you will vary although it will usually depend on the severity of your acne.
Acne treatments come in a large range of options, there are herbal medications, creams, and pills.
If you have very light acne then before trying any treatment I would recommend simply washing your face with a wet cloth as this helps unclogs the pores, for some people this is enough to keep them acne-free.
Now I will discuss the most commonly recommended acne treatments.
Benzoyl Peroxide
Benzoyl peroxide is not a product itself but I will speak about it as if it is because a very large majority of the acne medications available to buy have a large quantity of this chemical inside them, for example the well known acne treatment: Proactiv.

Benzoyl Peroxide works like by breaking down and removing dead skin cells it also assists in killing bacteria off the skin. This obviously helps to fight acne.
What makes this acne treatment particularly popular is that it does not require any prescription and generally will not have many unwanted side effects unless allergic to it. Check out my Benzoyl Peroxide review for more information.
Benzoyl is best suited for mild-moderate acne sufferers.
RoAccutane
RoAccutane is what I personally like to call 'the cure to acne' and 'the master to all acne treatments' this is because it is the drug that cured me from acne.
This miracle form of acne treatment works by actually reducing the amount of sebum (oil) that the skin produces, and because of this your pores are less likely to get clogged up and this means less acne.
You will notice the more effective a treatment is against acne often the more side effects it will have, this applied to RoAccutane. It will definitely give your dry skin and chap your lips if you do not put on lip balm at least every few hours.
Unfortunately this medication requires a prescription usually prescribed by a dermatologist. If you have severe acne however this will probably not be a problem. The cure to acne has a price to pay.
